h20 coral food any good for sps

I have never heard of it before, but it looks like it might be. I use Rod's Food to feed my tank, and I like it quite a bit. If you have an lfs that sells it, I would recommend it.

thanks for the reply

i jst grabbed this from my lfs cuz it was cheap. i normaly dont do this but with this economy so bad i couldnt afford anything else. unfortunately no rods food at my lfs

Try reef roids. It's one of the finer dry foods I have found and the numbers on the back blows everything comparable out of the water. I usually mix it with reef chili as well from BRS and both broadcast feed and target once every 2 weeks

Yeah it works pretty good. Cut the cube in half becasue its quite a lot of food packed in there. The LPS corals like it to if you have a mixed reef.

Feeding your fish is more than enough for SPS imo. No need for "coral food"

Depends. Right now I only have four fish in my 180g system. I like to disperse foods into the tank that my fish may not necessarily be able to eat, one is a homemade style food. They'll get chunks here and there but the rest is very fine.

I don't think I feed enough pellets to sustain my corals, if I did my fish might explode!

Every system is different, in many cases just feeding the fish is plenty. Ideally, use a food that has plenty of chunks for your fish and also has 10-150 micron food particles in it. Use this maybe a couple times a week in place of pellets.

ths is definately true. in my case my sump is bigger than my tanks, so watever fish waste there is just gets diluted in the large volume of water. i definately have to feed other wise my corals will get pale and starve

Their oyster eggs are great for the whole tank...they are chicklet sized squares. I put one on a vortec and watch the frenzy.

my tang, angels, rabbit, and butterflies really like their 50/50 mix too.

i have a few lps but im focused more ont the sps. i was about to pick up the oyster eggs but it was 22 dollars at my lfs.

what u guys think is better oyster eggs or one of the dry foods like reef roids?

Very true. You can still supplement coral food but be careful to not pollute you tank with excess nutrients... which will do only harm to your SPS. Talking about $$ you can make your own food! Check recipes online and save $$.

H20 Oyster eggs are only 12 bucks locally.
1 Pack of that, lasts for months.

I'm not sure if there is anyone crazy enough to use a whole piece, I just cut mine in half, once a week.

thats reasonable and i mean oyster eggs is oyster eggs so i dont see how the reef nutrition eggs are any better for 22 dollars

anyway thanks for the replys

H20 oyster eggs are much more chunky than RN which is basically liquid.

I'm crazy cause I put a whole cube in about once a week!
