had a relapse

This weekend I had yet another relapse of MTS :)

Latest is a 125g that is going to be fun setting up. It will become the new DT and the 75g will become the predator tank and the 55g will be converted back to freshwater for my daughter, the 29g will remain the home for the zoas and mated pair of clowns...I know "crazi" but that's what Big Girl told Bill when she learned of my latest relapse..and I quote "I told you she was crazier than me" LOL
But just couldn't pass up the deal....really wanted an 8 footer but after setting the 6 footer...I don't know where I'd put an 8 without doing some major remodeling and I'm not ready for that just yet

Thanks Julie

Now for the bad part of this illness...thought I would come home from work and begin to fill the tank with water seeing how I finally got all needed plumbing parts over the weekend when all of a sudden...WHAMMY!! hubby brought something to my attention that never crossed my mind when I place the tank only about 4ft from the right-side of the fireplace(afterall..who thinks about a "hot" fire burning in Alabama during the summer?)....he said"now what's the fire gonna do to your tank? You know you already fought heat issues in the 75g and it's clear across the room." So..........here is my high-fever before the cure...finding a place for it in the den, everyone at home wants me to put it in the livingroom but I wanna be able to see it at all times and the den is where we send our time except when I'm on the puter which is in the livingroom but from here I can see all 3 of the others without getting up or turning around and If I put the 125 in here ..I'd have to turn around from the puter desk to see it....awww the drama we create ourselves..LOL
Hoping I find a cure real quick :)

a "hot" fire burning in Alabama

You mean you use your fire place in winter? We hardly ever use ours since it just heats up things directly in front of it (usually my bottom :D ) and keep the rest of the house cold.

Do you have any of them plumbed together? It makes me tired just thinking about having to do water changes to so many tanks and keeping many pumps cleaned.

we have a gas fireplace and it heats the whole house :)

well, guess you're only option is not do use the fireplace?? just use electric blankets may be?? i dunno

aawww...after a month I've finally got everything up and running and have added roughly 120lbs of rock 100lbs of sand and all test came back very good this morning so I
have begun the transfer....(will post pic tommorow as I''m too tired to fool with photobucket tonight) I have only built a very large rock structure on the right-side with the awesome rock I picked up from ZaoZao and have only transfered 21 corals as of 8pm tonight and still have 39 more pieces to go...spent over 2 hours trying to catch the fish with absolutely no luck at all :( but hopefully tomorrow I can either catch them quickly with out hassel or I'll just have to remove all the rock and drain most the water to get them...fun thing is....the only swim away and hide when the net is in my hand, other than that, I left the net sitting in there for about 30 minutes and they came out like nothing was new and I even could put my hand in the tank and they didn't care until I touched the net...lol...they knew something was up. Anyhow, I hope to have everything moved at least by Tuesday if not it'll have to wait til the next week as I will be out of pocket this comin weekend...so if anyone has a good trick in catching fish please don't hesitate to chim in....I hate the tought of taking all the rock out at this point cause only a few pieces are gonna go into the 125g and the rest will remain in there as part of the FOWLR predator tank
Don't ya just love those days that you spend every hour working on the tanks :) but it's all worth it when you finally sit down and just gaze at them knowing how hard you worked to get the water changed and things situated in them and they look "AWESOME" and knowing that everyone who comes over, immediately goes over to tanks and awes over them

Finally got a chance to upload the photos tonight had a long trisome week.....came home Tuesday night to discover that one of the new pumps had belly-up on me so had to snatch it out and fix the system so it would run on just one pump through the night and most of Wed till I went to the Reef to get a loaner till they could send mine off to the manufacture to be fixed( boy was I ever T'd off about that seeing as how the pump had only been in the system for 2 weeks) andhow, got that all squared away for now till the new pump comes in....and tonight it was yet another night of transfer....moved all the rock from the 55g into the 75g and drained 80% of the water just to catch Jack(the trigger) and place him in the acclimation bucket....almost 10pm and have about another 45 mins to get him acclimated before I can call it a night

Here are the pics of the new DT...not all the way situated yet but everything is in there
