I went down to the basement to feed my seahorses this morning when I realized that my male seahorse had given birth! The lucky thing is, I must of forgotten to turn the pumps back on last night after their last feeding and all of the seahorses were still in the main tank! His pouch didn't get as big as I have seen it before in pictures, and only started thinking he was pregnant earlier this week. This batch was rather small, and only about 50 babies total. Its amazing to think that I only got these horses maybe a month ago from Beth.
However, after scooping them out of the tank, about half of them are already on the bottom motionless
The remaining ones are still swimming, but a few are itching. Pathogens from the main tank? Wish I had bbs going. Next time I'll be ready!
