Had to split my bangaii cardinals

I don't know what happened, but the female just jumped all over the male when he was about 3 weeks into holding the babies. She about chewed his tail off and I had to put him in my QT tank. He was so beat up it didn't take more than a minute to catch him.

These two have been together over a year and spawned many times with not so much as a single torn fin. I think she would have killed him if I didn't split them. Anyone else run across this with Bangaiis?

This happens to quite a few people who maintain pairs of banggais. On MOFIB there are a bunch of threads about this. I don't know why they stop getting along.

Not with Bangaiis, but with my wife often !
