I recently purchased a small deep blue haddoni. Very gorgeous color that I had not seen before and it has been doing well in my tank.
I also have been keeping small hermits in my tank, as they tend to be more thorough cleaners than snails. Well, as all of us know, they tend to be rather clumbsy. One managed to fall into my haddoni and my haddoni snapped it up before I could even blink. I had never seen any of my anemones eat that fast before.
But I also know that it can't digest the shell.... It looked a bit swollen at the mouth a bit earlier, but now looks normal. It hasn't spit up the shell yet though.
Can anyone tell me what to expect? I know it's not exactly a rare occurence in tanks, but I've never actually heard any details on what happens and the effect it has on the anemone. I can't exactly go and pry it out of the anemone now that it's eaten, but knowing what I might be able to expect might put me at ease...
