My carpet has pulled his foot from the sand to only go to the surface between rock and sand! Just not sure why? All parameters are good have had it for 10 mths it has been in captivity for 4 yrs eats 2 to 3 times a week. I was wondering if there was not enough sand there is 4 in when his foot is buried. Any ideas would be helpful!

Could you list the actually number behind the water test? Just want to make sure.

I don't think the depth of the sand is the issue -- all 3 of mine are with a 2 inch ( on average ) sand bed.

When you say the foot is b/t the sand and the rock is it still attached under the rock? Or is it on top of the rock?

Mine have their foot in the sand, right at the rock sand interface with part of the foot attached to the bottom glass and part of the underside of the rock.

Any changes to the tank recently? No matter how trivial.

The only changes would be the addition of corals! Im gonna test everything when the little one gos down for a nap! It is attached on a rock at the sand rock interface! Could he have moved cause there was a soft coral next to it? Cat think of the name off hand! I think sinularia

I have never kept any sinularia with my haddonis, so can't say if that is the issue.

This is how mine is attached,

And here is its foot from under the tank.

well after testing
PH 8.2
Ammonia .25
Nitrite 0
Nitrate2.5
Calcium 440
Dont have a kits for mag and alk, He is still in the same spot looks like its trying to put it foot threw the rock ! I guess i ll have to wait and see!

The ammonia being at .25 is a bit of a concern. Anything die recently ? I would suggest doing a water change as soon as you can.

Nothing has died could be from over feeding! I added some prime after the test to help w/ it and will make up some water today!

Well it has been almost a week and still in the same spot! On a rock between the sand and rock. Not sure what his problem is but is still eating and very sticky, i guess i will wait it out dont want to tear in the tank and stress it out if it is already!
