Haddoni Mouth Question...

I've had a Haddoni for about a month. He seems happy and healthy. One thing that I noticed recently is that his mouth isn't constant. What I mean by that is I'll walk by one minute and it will be tightly closed, but when I walk by five minutes later, it's really loose. Sometimes his stomach is even inverted. Any ideas what this means? I'm not terribly worried. Just curious;)

IME, that is never a good sign. The only time that that would be normal is when it is either expelling waste, or just finished pulling in some food.

The stomach being inverted is a bit of a concern to me. All the times that I have personally seen that it is the beginning of the end.

Is it possible to get any pictures of its stomach being inverted? Want to see how bad it is. Also, some tank specs would be helpful.

Back in January I received a new Haddoni, it was doing what you describe for about a week.

One minute,

you said this was normal when they ate right?

I did, but I should clarify -- it won't happen all the time, but once in a while when feeding them you would be able to see the mouth/stomach come out a bit as the food is drawn towards the mouth. Should only last for a minute or two.

ok good had me worried for a min I Ive had one in my tank for about a week and it does is some times when hes eating but barley ever and for like 30 seconds

Okay so, I haven't been here long so I don't know how to attach a pic but I can give you the tank spec. It's a 72g bow front. Salinity-1.025 Ph-8 ammonia-0 nitrites-0 nitrates-20-40 Phosphates-0.5 temp-78to80 I have two hydor-koralia size 2. Metal hallide lights. If there's anything else you want to know just ask. Thankx for the help:) P.S. even when its stomach is inverted it never looks like yours in the pic...
