Haddoni not attaching

Hey guys,

I received an Green Haddoni yesterday on the mail and since it got here and I placed it inside the tank it has not attached. I have all my powerheads off since yesterday. The anemone also has the mouth open the size of a silver dollar, maybe a bit bigger and it has not tightened it. Any ideas why it has not attached?

I made a hole in the sandbed next to a rock and I placed it there but it doesn't attach and it doesn't seem to be sticky either.

My tank has been up for about a 1yr and 1 month my parameters are as follow.

- Water Gravity "“ 1.026
- Temperature "“ 78-81° F
- Ammonia "“ 0.0 ppm
- Nitrite "“ 0.0 ppm
- Nitrate "“ 0.5 ppm
- pH "“ 8.2
- Cal - 480
- Alk - 9.0 ppm
- Mag - 1250

Sounds like you are doing everything you can. Not being sticky is concerning. Are you light acclimating it?

Best you can do it leave it and hope it settles in. Assume it has some flow?

Yes I forgot about the light. Im acclimating it to the light too. I have 3 layers of screen over my lights.

The only flow I have on the tank is from the return pump. If I turn on my power heads the anemones just starts floating everywhere.

If the nem looks healthy otherwise (not bleached) then just let it be an hope it attaches. Sounds like you have done what you can.

Any other type of nems in the tank? If so that could be an issue.

If you have clowns in it you may need to separate them.

Its not bleached at all. I'll see if it attaches by tomorrow. If it doesn't I don't know what to do because I don't want to leave my power heads off for so long
