Haddoni on the prowl

So after months of being happy and not moving my Haddoni has decided he wants to roam. Nothing has really changed I don't know why he is doing this (possibly flow??). In a few seconds of reaching a very large zoo colony the ones he touched have completely closed and look ... dead. So far I moved a power head and pointed it directly on him from the direction he was moving. I figured he wouldnt like the high flow and would move away from it, right where I want him to stay. He stopped moving forward atleast. Will this work or will too much flow hurt him?? Should I just grab some gloves and move him back where I want him?? Thanks!

He will continue to move to wherever he is happiest, you can try to deter him from moving somewhere but he will do what he wants. The flow won't hurt him, I've had some of my colonies stung by carpets, they're not dead, they'll come back. Don't bother trying to pull him out and put him to where you want, too much stress and the possibility of hurting him, plus he'll move right back. You can try pointing more flow at him and trying to get him to move back... Otherwise be ready to move things...

Ugh... I was hoping you wouldnt say that. I have colonies growing on all of my rock moving everything really wont be a viable option. I may have to part with him if this is going to keep happening, he was soo happy there too I don't get it.

Yea I am thinking that is the best route. Next question is what do I put in there to fill a 18" diameter gap thats a fun question though :)

You dont have to get rid of him right away, let him set, you can try pointing the flow at him to coax him to move. He may go right back.. Just don't freak out just yet..

Do it while it's moving. Mine was set, I put a Koralia Nano 420 on him for days, no movement. I've never fought so hard to remove a nem from my tank.

I removed him last night... it was a pain. His foot is easily 5 inches across and he did not want to let go. Thankfully I did get him off without any harm. I have now aquired a beautiful bright orange and teal scolly. I think I will turn his area into a scolly garden :) All of my zoos opened again shortly after I removed him, that would have been a ton of damage.

That's about how big mine was. They're not like a BTA, in that once you get a little bit of the foot up they let go; I had to keep working the foot on the haddoni...took me about an hour.

Yea, I worked for every last mm picking him off. Sometimes high flow will make other anemones release not this guy he was holding on no matter what. I liked him but I'm relieved he didn't cause more dmg and now I don't have to worry about him moving every night.
