I remember those "talks" I think I won them. I have 3 tanks and one ex wife. ;)

Actually have a perfect spot for a 180, but would have to sell my 75 to fit it. And since I only rent my townhouse, I don't want anything bigger then a 75 until I know I won't be moving.
 
I think it actually is a concern about allelopathy when mixing anemones. I also think some species are more tolerant than others. I had an LTA that was very large and eventually it wiped out a large rhodactis I had had for years. I once put a BTA in the tank with a large ritteri, and the BTA just went down hill. On the otherhand, I think BTAs can mix with corals and mushrooms without too much trouble, if they are not actually in physical contact. Obviously this is all anecdotal, it would be great if someone were actually able to conduct an experiment to see what species can be kept together. I personally believe anemones of the same species can be kept safely together, even if they are not clones. I've seen this with my H. mags and I've observed it in tanks with S. haddoni.
 
Gary, what do you think if the Haddoni and btas are a good 4 feet apart? Would allelopathy still be a concern? I didn't pay for the Haddoni yet and could easily back out. But I do really want it.
 
lol. Don't put pressure on me. Actually I would probably wait until I could put the haddoni in a tank of its own. Even a small 30 gallon or something would be fine. Your BTA's look beautiful, maybe you can just leave that tank to them and let them multiply and then have a separate species tank for a haddoni and clown pair. Just my thoughts.
 
Pressure, what pressure? I just thought that since these are two of the hardier species that it might work. If I ever do a species tank it won't be a haddoni. I would probably go with a magnifica or mertensi, maybe gigantea. I think I'm going to give it a try. If I don't like the way things are looking, I can take the haddoni out and put him in a friends empty 120 until I find a new home for it.
 
OK, I made some room on the right side of the tank, this is how it looked last night. I think I;ll tell it to anchor itself in the sand between the last rock and the overflow cover. When I tell an anemone to stay they always do :rolleyes:

They are still there. the big red one goes down into it's cave as soon as the lights go out. The big green one goes halfway into it's cave. And the litle red one is now 2 little red ones and they are there.

OH! Ok - just checking! :) Now I can see where you're talking about. Tank looks great - I'm excited for you!
 
Well, I went to pick up the haddoni after work and after an hour and a half of trying to get that sucker out, we gave up. It's like he's super glued to the bottom glass. Maybe I'll go get the blue one at the lfs or maybe I'll scrap the whole idea.
 
He tried a power head, ice cube, and just rubbing the foot. The carpet opened completely up instead of folding. I guess it just didn't want to be moved. And the last thing we wanted to do was injure it.
 
I don't think it is an excuse, about 3 months ago I moved my blue one from my 75 to my 58. I couldn't believe how attached it was to the bottom glass. I ended up damaging the oral disk in the process and I really thought it was toast. Lucky for me it made a full recovery. Then last night I was redoing my 75 (( getting ready for my green one that is coming today )) and I spent over an hour getting my yellow/tan one free. Part of the foot was on the bottom glass, the other on the underside of a rock. The glass part was easy, as for the rock -- ended having to chisel it apart to get the anemone free.

So, what I am trying to say is that I am not all that surprised that he couldn't get it free. But hopefully for you all the messing with it will cause it to move/release.
 
Well, it doesn't really matter now. I picked up my 16" blue at the lfs a half hour ago. It's drip acclimating now. I'll post pics later when it's in the tank.
 
I don't care if it is convenient or not, post them. ;) ;)

My new green one is in a bucket now acclimating. Would love to put in my 58 with my blue haddoni, but don't want to move anything for where I would put it. Plus, I re-did my 75 for it last night, have a nice spot for it ( assuming it stays there ) on the opposite part of the tank from my yellow/tan one.
