Hair algae on blasto and bird of paradise frags

Hey all,
I recently purchased some frags and two of the frags have some hair algae growing all around the coral on the plugs. The two frags are red blasto's and a monti ORA bird of paradise. I've heard about hydrogen peroxide dips being really successful with ridding frags of hair algae but most people seem to use this on zoa's and not LPS/SPS. I'm looking for suggestions on how to rid these frags of this nuisance algae or peoples experiences with dipping these two corals in a hydrogen peroxide solution.

Thank you in advance.

A short dip might be a bit strong you can give them a longer dip at a dilute rate and repeat 2-3 times every other day removing any dead algae.

If your using 3% then dose at 1-1.5ml per liter for 2 hours.

Using this method i have treated most coral types without problem including birds nest and blasto. Candy cane is the only one I have found susceptible to the peroxide at this strength.

The thing is even if you burn it off of the plugs it's still there, it'll just come back if your nutrient levels are high. I wouldn't recommend dipping SPS with peroxide, haven't had great results on that one...

their are no algae issues in my tank. I bought the frags with the hair algae already on them. I'll give your suggestion a try on the blasto

How much is on the frags ?

A pair of tweezers and some patience can go a long way. Work in a small container of tank water and rinse before returning the frags to your DT.
