sorry for bad pics but old camera and i suck at taking pics.

but if you look at link and check out my photo gallery you can see older pics the vid was done on sept. 19 so you can see improvement on the vid cause some of live rock is still light colored from being covered in hair algae and not anymore.

oh yeah anyone like toadstools as you can see in pic i have some good size frags of a umbrella toadstool, you can see the big one i cut them off of which is getting ready to get hacked up again, plus i have tons of freakin kenya trees.

Rich doesn't have much HA but he does have some slime stuff going on. I need to go see his new tank setup..

thanks for the heads up on the product. if it doesnt work I'll send you the bill... :) thanks again.

works great you will see but nahhhhhhhhhhhh you keep the bill.
follow directions and you will see, i dose and wait one week than remove mats of algae and than dose again after a week than its cool but it doesn't grow back. if you look in my photo gallery you can see my 29 gallon pics it was bad in begining with algae and i have yet since february did a water change on that tank and in vids you can see tons of purple coraline algae besides the rock i got from nanook covered in calupra fern.

Last time I was at Velko's "AT" I didn't see any hair algae what so ever. Place looked really good because the man always has a towel on his shoulder and keeps the place nice.

I had a huge problem with hair algae (Briopsys) in the beginning with my 90. Starved the stuff with good water parameters and flow till the coraline algae took with a little help dosing agra-milk. Then kept it under control with long spine urchins. Those things mow the stuff down. Got to get the right ones.

Lonnie do me a favor and help rich get pics up of his new tank. I'm curious to see how it looks after the woman got a hold of it with the paint brush.

velco said he uses the SAT in his tanks, so if he uses and alot of you guys have seen his tanks they are amazing.

Here's what I think.

New tank, regardless if half of the stuff was already established
new rock has die-off
let the chaeto do it's job for a little while
Make sure new water has TDS of 0, anything over 0 and I have problems
Ensure there's no deadspots, that's a lot of water you have to move
Go ahead and run some phosban and carbon
Make sure the skimmer is skimming, is it undersized?

I'm just trying to list what I've encountered. I've never had more than a single 1"x1" tuft of hair algae though. I do run phosban and carbon in phosban reactors. I make sure I skim 24/7 and keep it on the wet side to get everything. My lights are run 10 hours and I have enough flow to make sure nothing stays motionless in the tank

Good luck.

Thanks for all the help and advice. Skimmer is running 24/7 and I don't believe it is undersized at all. I will give it some time and see what happens. In the meantime, I am going to order some SAT tomorrow. I will try and post pics soon.

its not a chemical, its bacteria, so kinda like a booster for biological system in your tank, dose once a month or for xtreme algae like mine once a week. Follow directions on bottle and if you have alot of hair algae you will love this stuff. My tank looks better and better every day.
