Hair algae?

I was just curious if anyone would have any idea what this is by description. I will try and post a pic later. I have been getting what I thought was hair algae on my rocks. The only difference is that is is sort of red and brown. I tried to brush it off with a tooth brush and even pull it off with my hands but it won't budge. I am sure it is some sort of algae just don't know what kind. All of my tank levels are fine. I use ro/di. I don't have a huge clean up crew though. Which I do need to invest in one though. Any help would be appreciated!!

You don't have any nitrates or phosphates?! What's you alkalinity at? What kind of flow do you have and what's your water turnover rate?

check your lighting . bulbs might be weak, it happened tp me.
