Hair algae

About a week back my calcium/ Alk got out of whack. Since then I have done many water changes and it is back to norm. 10-10.5 and 420. I have some hair algae that starting growing on my rocks and sand, it has air bubbles on it as well which is new to me. Any ideas on how to stop this stuff from growing? My other tests are all in line since several water changes. Is this stuff just going to need a week or so to go away itself or is there something to help it along?

hair algae doesnt have bubbles in it. sounds more like a cyano outbreak to me. what color is it? can you post a pic?

It may be cyano, I will get pics up tomorrow. Its very dark brown. My calcium and alkalinity being out of what caused this i am assuming....

is this the tank that's about a year old? Can you explain more about your husbandry and filtration? Algae is rarely affected by alk/calc levels, so I don't know if that's the issue, but if the fluctuation caused die-off of other tank inhabitants (such as coralline algae) the resultant nutrient release could be feeding the algae.

I have a mag drive 7 for a pump, refugium, four mj1200's ASM protein skimmer. it is the year old tank. It does look like cyano i guess, when i got it early it was red but it does look the same but brown.
