i was wondering to get rid of hair alge if there was an animal or sumthing else i could do to control hair alge in my tank.

There are animals that eat the algae, but it is better to control the algae through water changes and getting your parameters under control. The problem with getting an animal that eats the algae is when the algae is gone, what will the animal eat?

Are you using RODI water for your changes or tap? Sounds like your phosphates are a little high.

As for something that will ear up your hair algae... Some crabs will do ok, as well as urchins, but if you really want it gone get a lettece nudi.

Snails, you'll want those anyway as they graze on rocks and clean up fish poop and other matter.

Ceriths, nassarius, astreas are all good and a great part of the natural cycle.

animals are never the answer, and they ad to the bio load. Snails poop too> LOL
Siphon out as much of the hair as you can and look into adding a phosban reactor, Do more frequent water changes and stop using flake food for now.

what other kind of live stock do you have in the tank. odds are if your perams are off that much there could be other troubles. I agree that your perams need to be put in order. What additives are you using? A phosban reactor would do some good also starting a regular dose of B-ionic or other buffering agent.

if your perams seem to be stable and its just some freak outbreak of hair which is unlikely than i know people who have had great success with lawnmower blennies. when there is no more algae then resell or trade to your LFS. or start feeding algae sheets.
