i bought a piece of live rock and it was supposed to cured i looked it over and didn't see anything but after a week there seem to be a green furry algea on it what do i do?

just so you know, being cured or not has nothing to do w/the rock getting Hair alga on it. If there's HA it will grow, regardless of the rock being cured or not.

But check your levels just like w/any other alga.

Nitrate and phosphates, and for hair alga, check for iron.

Hair algae grows in my sump because there is very little flow. Put a Mexican turbo snail in and watch it munch the stuff down. Or simply take out the rock out and proceed to scrub the rock with kalk water and bottle brush. Rinse with ro/di water and return to tank. This is a short term solution. sir-dudeguy is trying to look long term for you. Very smart guy.

anyone have any luck with a lawn mower blenny? I heard they eat hair algae also!
