I am having a bit of a bloom of hair algea, my blenny doesnt seem to want to eat it, what should I do. I am going to do a 10% water change in the morning but I was wondering if I bought a tang would he keep it down? ANy suggestions are more then welcome

Some tangs will eat it, my Yellow doesn't seem to though. My lawnmower keeps a couple rocks around his favorite perch spotless. Best way to get rid of any algae, and keep it away, is to starve it. Cut back on your feeding and increase your water changes. I know, I don't like that answer either, I've got a tank that despite cutting my feed portions in half, and cutting their frequency in half, still has hair algae problems.

Also, how big is your tank? Most Tangs get pretty big.

My tank is a 75 gallon, I am skimming the tank pretty heavy and I dont feed my critters but every few days. I only have the clowns and a lawn mower blenny in there so they dont require much food any ways. So I guess I am going to have to just do water changes more frequently. Is there an invert that I can get? How about a sea slug, or a pencil urchin? whould either of these work

Sounds like you're not feeding much so I'd probably look at other factors. How old are you lights, what's your phosphate/nitrate levels in your tank and your waterchange water (maybe RO/DI filters need to be changed)?

Just some advice. But in my RC under the discription parts add tank size , lighting , length of time tanks been running and any other details as it helps .
How long tank been running ?
What is the water source ?
What is the flow source ? ( powerhead or heads )

I hate Hair Algae!

Algea is always present and can be ready to bloom whene conditions are right. Reefers know is about controlling so this dont happen. And isnt really hard to control.
