I have a large colony of what used to be brown hairy mushrooms, over the last few days the have turned a light green color. is this normal. all other corals in the tank are thiving. i have had these for over 1.5 years. All parameters are constant and no changes have been made. tried to take pics but didnt turn out very good.

just happy?

just happy?

There's a rather common color morph of hairy's that look kinda brown in low light.
Put them in brighter lights and they get much greener at the base and stay brown at the tips.

Did you change bulbs or move them up the water column?

SabrinaJean - when they get white, they ain't happy. Are they getting too much light? Might move them into the shade or lower in the tank.

Here's pic's of mine. The brown tips are under VHOs, the green tips are under a 10k 250W halide. The two tanks are connected, so exactly the same water conditions. These are two clones from the same original colony. Just a matter of light.
