Hairy mushroom growing on toadstool stalk

I picked up the rock in the attachment yesterday at a LFS and with how it was positioned in the store, I didn't realize there's hairy mushroom literally attached to the stalk of the toadstool (which wasn't showing any polyps in the store either, I assumed it was shedding).

Is the mushroom going to be a problem for the toadstool?

In case it's relevant, it was definitely just shedding, as about 50% of the polyps are out this evening.

Still curious if anyone has had issues with mushrooms and toadstools in such proximity though. I'm thinking I'll leave it be and see what happens for now.

I would think it might be. I would separate it away. If Im correct, I believe those hairy mushrooms can be bothersome to some corals. It may keep your toadstool from extending completely.

Remove it, mushrooms do have small stinging tentacles, you can elastic band the coral to a rock. ( I am talking about the mushroom by the way )
