Could anyone tell me what this is on my rock. The kind of fluffy thing in the centre of the picture. Sorry for the poor quality pic it's the best I could get.
Aslong as it's harmless that fine. It's my first saltwater tank and it's going ok apart from powder- like algae on the sand and glass. No mater matter how much I i wipe it down it 're appears within an hour.
If it is infact a sponge harmless filter feeder. The powder like algae you are referring to is most likely diatoms. Just part of the maturing process of your tank and generally all new tanks go through it. In time it will pass and more ugly stages will take it's place.
