Note the similarity in appearance of the juvi bipartitus and lappilius (left and right respectively).
The area in which I caught the super male above has a lot of the latter to be seen, but no bipartitus, hence my conclusion of its species.
It very well could be Halichoeres lapillus. However, the reason I am leaning towards M. bipartitus, is that this specimen lacks the black ear spot common on H. lapillus.
