what can people tell me about them. so far my experiece with angelfish was a bicolor who lived 6 month in my tank( died afetr moving to clean algae free tank) and a flame angel who was a sweet and lovely fish. never nip at anything. SPS, LPS, sonfties, zoanthias. gorginia. Non

What about half black. what can I expect from it with softies, maybe a couple LPS and SPS

What size tank? With how big they get, wouldn't do one in anything less than a 4' 55gal, with a 90gal minimum being optimal.

We've got a brute that is about 4". Will destroy pretty much any coral in the tank. He did leave alone toxic Paly's but destroyed the less toxic Zoas, Xenia and Yellow Polyps. Tank is a FOWLR, but we threw in some over-growth from the reef.

:S the tank will be a 6og apr cube. 24x24x24.

I think I will have to go with another option. I did really like this fish but I don't want no bullies in my tank.

The two half-blacks I've tried were hard to feed/didn't feed at all. They barely took bites from frozen mysis and brine shrimp. The only feeding I saw from them was picking at the rocks. They didn't care about my GSP, Zoas, LPS.

On the other hand, my Coral Beauty eats like crazy and stays away from my softies/LPS/SPS/clam.

well i have no experience with the coral portion.. but my 1/2 black is a model citizen in my FOWLR tank with ohter drwaf nagels, a large angel, a couple tangs a gsm clownfish a scatt and a wrasse.. and i have had no issues with getting him to eat.. grazes on the rocks and eats flakes, and frozen foods and will eat a chunck or 2 of algea sheets...

/i don;t think I have problem getting one that eats since I don't buy fish that won't eat at the LFS. The guy from the LFS does a good job at feeing all the fish even the most picky of them.

the problem is I will like to keep xenia, zoanthias, colt coral, clams and maybe a couple sps and lps. The problem is that a centropyge and this coral is a very tricky thing.

I will ask to to put the fish in the softie tank. I don't thing there will be a problem to catch him later in thata tank. I I don't see any nipping I'll give it a try.
