Half burnt out?

As I am a noob, this may look and sound stupid, but are both tubes on the actinic light supposed to be bright blue, or is one of them supposed to be dimmer? If I didn't know better, I would think that it is half burnt out. img If the image does not come through, it is posted in my gallery. Thanks

It's probably a 50/50 bulb.

50% actinic (one tube).

50% "daylight" (one tube).

The actinic is really mostly just for colour, the daylight is more useful for coral growth. It's all fine.

Alot of times the "dual" actinic PC bulbs are one half 420nm blue and one half 470nm blue. One appears brighter blue and the other more of a dim darker(purplish) blue.

The bulb itself says that it is a dual actinic. So they should both be lit the same. Right?

dont worry, dual acts usually have one tube that looks almost like its not working. Its just the different wavelength of light.
