Hey ReefCentral,
I bought this guy about a year ago. He is definitely from the Halichoeres family of wrasses. I'm almost positive on that. He was collected as a Melanarus wrasse. I like unusual/rare fish; what's cooler than thinking you may be the only person with this fish in captivity? I'm hoping this is a fish like that, although I know he/she isn't the prettiest fish, it is one of the most active swimmers in my tank. It's always hunting for pods, and is my personalized coral cleaner. Whenever I introduce a new coral he inspects it. It's pretty cool to watch!
Here he is when I first got him.
He has a yellow dot with black center on his dorsal fin.
Here he is now. This picture shows what he looks like under normal light.
And, here he is with flash.
Any help is appreciated!
