Halides over a 58G

I have a 58g with a 400w SE 20k XM in there. Started out with a 250 se 10k xm and didnt like the color. Great growth though. went to a hamilton 14k and nothing grew, some stuff died, do I put in the 400w.

I really like it, I get good growth and really nice color without being to blue.

I get lots of evaporation from all the fans, and temps never get over 83(when room temp is 80).

If you do a 250w make it a DE and stick with a bright bulb like a 10k or the phoenix 14k. If you want more color do a 400w.

I hope to get a luminarc reflector eventually as well, im sure that will help alot.

Sweet. Doesn't have 1 x 250, and 1 x 175 make your tank look a bit odd? I mean, you'd have 1/2 the tank all bright, and the other side look a bit shadowed, am I right?

Looks like my lighting''s all set for now then. I don't miss how much preparation a new tank takes, lol.

Any SE bulb recommendations?
