This has been ided as Halimeda, does it relocate ok? Maybe it would be good for a refugium?

yeah you can relocate those. you can actually break off a piece and insert it into the sandbed. it'll put out roots. what type of coral is that? are those zoanthids? the tentacles are VERYY long
 
Yellow polyps, yeah the tenticles are quite long. Whats the easiest way to control the growth? Will is spread all over the tank?
 
I don't believe that is in the genus Halimedia. If it is calcareous it maybe a Udotea, or some closely related genus. If not calcareous, maybe a Avrainvillea species.

That depends on what kind of benifit you are looking for. If you are looking for something that rapidly uses up available nutrients, I don't believe they would be of much benifit. If you are looking for an interesting marine organism to add diveristy to your tank, I think it would be of great benifit. I have not know members of the two genera I listed to be particularly rapid grows or to cause harm to tank mates. So assuming it is in one of those two genera, I would lay odds that keeping it around would not be a detriment to your tank.
