Hammer cloning????

My hammer coral released one of it's tentacle things today into the water. It is a perfect little sphere of green with pink spots on it. It was floating in the water column. I put it in a ventilated specimine container with a piece of rock in there (it would have gotten sucked into my overflow or powerhead otherwise). Is this my hammer reproducing or did it lose a part of itself somehow? If this is my hammer reproducing how do I care for this litte thing? Does it affix to the rock naturally or grow a skeleton, etc.?

Thanks.

I think Eric Borneman's book mentions this as a possible reproductive strategy for all Euphyllia corals. I tried supergluing mine to a rock but I did a poor job and it fell off the next day never to be found again. Next time I will be sure to do a better job.

thanks miwoodar. unfortunately I couldn't find it in the specimine container???? maybe it is on that rock somewhere now, I don't really know, lol. in the future i'll try the superglue thing like you did.
