Hammer coral filter feeding?

What's going on here? Did a filter feeder invade a head in my hammer coral? Has anyone else seen this before?

Yep.
Pretty common in Torches.
Never seen them in hammers yet..thats a first for me.

It will not spread.
You could try to fill it..but it really will not hurt your hammer. It my irritate that spot. And your polyp extension will be a little less in that area. Really no harm.
