hammer coral

So I have a 28g cube. I may of made a boo boo. I bought a pink tip hammer. It only had 4 heads on it when I bought it. Well, it is growing out of control. It has over 20 heads now. They keep splitting...What is the best way to frag it? It is starting to take over my tank.

I have attatched a picture to show how ridiculous it looks. Sorry, the tank looks bad along with the hammer. I lost power for 4 days. To my suprise my snowflakes and hammer were still alive. Lost everything else. Nursing the coral back to health...it looks a lot better just bigger than I want.

I would first make sure it recovers fully and then given that it is branching and not a wall hammer you can just take a nice, sturdy pair of hand shears and clip off however many heads you want per frag. Very easy coral to frag.

I would also suggest to dip both frags and colony in some sort of dip after the fragging to ensure no bacterial infections or anything such as that occurs. Just my two cents worth.
