Hammer coral

Hey i was looking at some coral and i like the hammer coral and was wondering if i would survive in my tank with my lights i have 96watt pc's but my tank is 20inchs tall if i will survive would i have to place it high up on the rocks

I think so. Like you said keep it up high and give it supplemental feedings to keep it happy.

IMO thats not enough light unless you have it pretty high up in the tank. PC's arent that great to begin with, but everything over 12-14 inches and they're even worse...but 20....

I suggest that you go over to the LPS forum and read the threads on hammers-great info on lighting, feeding, and placement there and excellent pictures also. My hammer has done excellent under pc's and it is near the bottom of the tank. Mine colors up and extends better when under indirect lighting with low to med. flow.
