Hammer heads never expand

Had this hammer since a 2 head frag. On this side there are several heads that just never seem to grow or open? I thought it is just that the heads above are just 2 large and they never get any light? Not sure if anyone else had this happen, but has been like this for 6 months or longer?

Probably because they're not getting enough light. Also how is the flow? From the looks of the more open heads looks like it's getting too much flow. The tentacles should be longer than that.

You can frag off the ones not getting any light and put them somewhere else or sell them, maybe trade to an lfs for something else?

Flow is actually pretty low. None of my lps like high flow, especially my bubble.

I'd go in there and frag off those shaded heads.
Or at least move the coral.

100% light issue. They are being shaded by the other branches. I had that issue and had to frag them and sell some. On the plus side, I made some money.

It feels like you have LED lights like me and this is one of the very few downsides to LEDs. They are more directional than other forms of light and this makes coral shading very easy.

Please note that this is solely my opinion and I may be wrong, but it just feels that way.

I have had the same issue with my torches. The shaded heads eventually die so I'd go ahead and frag the lower branches.
