Hammer VS Mushroom

Not usually. I have two seperate "stalks" each with 7-10 heads that are right next to each other and they co-exist very well.

Maybe I droped something on it. It is not 100% gone, hanging at 40% for several days. Do they recover if in good quality water? I have not had any of this type of coral in many years.

torches and hammers should be fine together

stanalee, I would move the hammer, because it seems a bit close to that Xenia as well

Sorry, this is not correct. Although many types of euphyllia can be placed near each other, a blanket statement like this is wrong. What we classify as "torches" typically seem to have a more potent sting than other common ones (hammer, frog, etc). Hammers an hammers, frogs and frogs, hammers and frogs typically work out well, however torch and others typically will result in fighting. Results may vary as it's a very wide classification.

On the mushroom part, in my experience they tend to win when going up against many things. One of the few exceptions are acan echinata which go toe-to-toe.

I agree with RokleM

torches will harm hammers. you should keep them at least 18" away from each other to prevent war.

I would move one of them and remove some shrooms.

Hammer

Hammer

WOW - 18"? I believe you, they both seem very mad! The agression chemicals must be at work. I'll move my silly Blue Xenia clump and put Torch there.

I am tempted to use it as a mushroom remover in big tank. I wonder how

i would expect the mushroom to win. my red mushrooms tend to win over every coral the com in contact with. lost a expensive acro to my $2 red mushroom!!!

Yep - Acros generally lose, One of mine however may have zapped a duro frag.

Does anyone know how a torch and a Rose Anemone would interact? I would rater leave the toxic torch near hammer than chance losing my Rose!
