hammers/spawns: not all created equal?

I see pics of these Euphyllia sp. that seem to vary widely in their coloration, some being way prettier than others.

Is this difference genetic, or environmental?

Both depending on the colors and environment. I've seen non-Aussie orange hammers turn pink and green within a week in captivity, but then there's all the different euphyllia color morphs that are genetic like solid orange hammers, pink and green frogspawns, etc
