Which is a better option? or would I need both for a 20gal tank?
inside a 20 gal tank. The flow rate of the aqua would kick up all my substrate
well i was looking at doing a sump/refugium type mix. running 2 pumps, one bringing water to the sump and one bringing the water to the DT, since its not a drilled tank. But by doing that I would think that I wouldnt need a filter anymore.
Here's another lol. A fuge on a 20 is useless IMO as you will be limited to the size fuge you can run as a hang on unit.
wouldn't it be size relevant small tank small cpr hob should be less nutrients to remove . not sure I follow the useless statement. on my 65g I have a 20g sump and a large cpr hob fuge. do you consider that to be useless as well. don't mean to hijak thread just looking for some clarity . I can always learn something new.
Ran a small fuge on my biocube, and just couldn't keep up with the nutrients. Added a sump to the biocube and all was better as I was then skimming, running sock, biopellets, gfo, etc etc. Again, just opinions.
Thanks mtc1966 now it all makes sense. So i can use my 20gal then get an overflow box and from the overflow box to the sump then return to the DT
