I am considering getting a Hannah checker. Are there different kinds and if so, which would you recommend?

I have Calcium, Phosphate, Nitrite and alkalinity. I love them all but for your first purchase I highly recommend the Phosphate checker.

I have never owned the calcium checker, but a lot of people report issues with it. The phosphate and alkalinity checkers are good.

Alk and Po4 are great. Dont buy calcium as they are difficult to get an accurate reading. Go with the Salifert for calcium.

I have the Phorphorus ULR meter and I like it. It took me a little while to get accurate readings from it. Make sure the glass vials are super clean when you put them in to the checker. Don't shake the vial after the reagent is in, just swirl it. I also wash the vial out with a bottle brush and then rinse it in some tank water before I start the test. It all sounds odd, but I have been able to get consistent reading by doing these things.
