Two years ago, on Mar 14th, Beer Guy opened up our forum.
Its seems hard to believe that it has only been 2 years. So many wonderful people have helped this club become such a success. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of them for their hours of hard work and dedication. Greg, Dennis, Lonnie, Mike, Baron, Jack, Dave, Steve and any one else that I accidently forgot.
We are very fortunate to have such a great group of members that not only love the saltwater hobby, but bring their own talents to the club to share with everyone. This is what this club was based on, building a club where we aren't only members of a Saltwater hobbist club, but a group of friends.
I want to take a second to say I have meet so many great people over the past two years, and look forward to meeting even more over the years to come.

It is true! The group of people that came together with a common goal of hanging out, talking reefs and having fun has developed into one of the most active club forums here on Reef Central :celeb3: :celeb1: :celeb2:

Who would have thought that in only two years we would have a forum with 60,000 posts and 5600 threads!!! That is 30,000 posts per year and 82 posts per day about all things reef! 5600 threads in two years is 8 threads per day!!

What has made this club the great success is the membership that have been along for the ride. It is a club for the members by the members...truely democratic and casual. We have had a bunch of pizza nights, tank plumbing nights, tank moving days/nights, frag swaps, get togethers, pool parties, LFS visits, tank tours and road trips. It has been a club that has reached out to many people by offering multiple events each month. In short, it is a club based on enthusiasm!

We are a club that helps each other and reaches out to new guys/gals with advice, friendship and camarderie. I have a lot of friends here and while in the past they were just internet friends due to my schedule, I can say that now the folks here are my real life friends thanks to our flexible scheduling of events on both weeknights and weekends.

Thanks to the current Board of Director's and thanks to Greg Capobianco for his dedication and undying loyalty to keeping SLASH going through rough times and growing pains. Together we can make SLASH the premier club in the country!

Thanks Rena and Nook, and everyone who has given us the chance to be the club we are. This club has proven theirs no I in team work and more folks than I can count has helped make this club what it is today, so I say to everyone a great big THANK YOU!!!

I want to also thank everyone. Without you all, I would have given up on having a tank, there were too many times I had a problem I had no idea how to solve. Problems still come up I have no idea what they are or how to solve, but I don't worry about them like I used to, if something comes up, I simply say, "well, I am sure someone on SLASH has an answer for me." Not to mention the money I am saving by having the SLASH club card!! That card has already paid for itself MANY times over! Thanks to everyone.

I don't know where to begin. I remember a small group of people who were looking for more in a reef club, so we created what we wanted and as it turns out it was what a lot of other people wanted as well. This is a reef club built on friendship between the members and staff. Our goal was a simple one...have fun and get to know the people out there just like us. St Louis is blessed with a large reefing population and turning that into a large group of friends wasn't easy all the time but it was natural and it happened.

I will never forget the long nights in the beginning, watching Dave devour pounds of chicken wings, pushing Capo off his walker and taking his wings while we worked out the details of what this club should be. No one has an idea of the amount of work it takes to get something like this done. Even though I am over 900 miles away, this is the group of people I want to associate with in the reefing community. There may be bigger clubs out there, but there are none as good as this one.

Thanks to Capo, Nook, Rams and LetMeGrow for allowing me to be a part of the beginning and using their vision to create something that will endure. Remember that a member of Slash is not just a reefing contact...that person is your friend as well.

Two years ago I added "S.L.A.S.H. Custom Made for Enthusiasts" as my tag line and it is as much true today as it was then.

Hip Hip Hooray! I have spent many of enjoyable evenings with one of the best group of guys out there. Just hanging out eating pizza and beer I have learned so much about the hobby! Not to mention all the cool stuff I always win! <snicker> Thanks Slash!!!!! You are an amazing club!

Seriously Thanks to everyone here, to all those that participate, and those that take time out of there days for no reason other than they have the knowledge and want to share it. There could be no way I would have made it this far this successfully without all of you!
