Ok here's the deal...Im running a phosban reactor in the same section of my sump that I have my Kalk drip (12"apart)....and after about 3 weeks the phosban gets hard. Ive move the reactor to the skimmer section but just wondering if anyone has every had this problem.?

Are you making sure the flow is fluidizing the media well? Ive found that if you dont give it enough flow, it tends to pack down and solidify. Hope this helps, JOHNNY

Thats exactly what I was thinking. I didn't want to say anything because I don't own one or feel I have a need for one due to the size tank I have.

I doubt it unless the Kalk is in a section of the sump where the flow is low/slow. My Kalk drips right into an area where the SW overflows a baffles and then goes over into another chamber.

I have used phosban, kent power phos and seachem phos guard.
I use a kent marine phos reactor
I find the kent product to be the best, but dang it is expensive.

Phosban tends to clump up and stop water flow, if you put too much flow thru it, it turns to powder and goes into the main tank. If it goes into main tank, you will notice some or all of your corals reacting negatively to contact with phos reactor media of any kind.
