any cement i can use and put back in the tank
i want to put together all my rock as they keep falling and scratching my glass i do not want to use epoxy as i had trouble with it in the past.. anyone used home depot cement and successfully used thank please help me :spin1:

I would recommemd not usimg cement do to leeching. You could dowl the pieces together using plastic rod. I still feel like epoxy is your best option. Ive heard of some using great stuff foam omce cured but thats purely hearsay... what issues did you have with the epoxy?

peaces fell of as it would not hold 10 pound rocks together

The brand I have is DAP. It sets in 2-5 minutes even underwater. I haven't had it in my reef tank for long, but I have used it in freshwater for years and in much bigger quantities. Be aware that it can temporarily raise your PH. I've never had an issue with DAP brand, but it's something you would want to keep an eye on.

u know where i can find it like a local hardware store home depot , or lowes thank you do u have a pic of the cement u use ? so i can use it to find it thank you i appreciate ur help alot

Home Depot and Lowes should carry hydraulic cement. Just ask and make sure that the product uses Type III cement.

I used sanded grout to build this background.

I would not suggest just dropping it back in the tank right away. I let it set submerged under tap water for about 4 weeks before it stopped or at least became a manageable level of ph increase.

Hydraulic cement. It is safe to use on cisterns that store potable water.

i used this and within 6 months it started crumbling apart, loosing parts of my rock work.

marco rocks makes a specific marine cement, that would be what i would use if i had to do it over again.
