Hardy Fish ?

Besides a damsel can someone tell me what would be the most hardiest fish with some color?

damsels make up for their lack of patterns with intense colorations.

number 2 on the toughness scale would be looking at triggers or clownfish ... ??

I vote for clownfishes as well. When I moved last year most of my fishes died and my pair of GSM clowns, pajama cardinal and a couple of gobies survived.

tank size? wrassse are tough.... some angels and tangs..... gobies in general.... lionfish, triggerfish..... some puffers.... blennies in general...... some butterflies.......

one spot fox face by far.mine is the only fish that survived two wipe outs.active and colorful.

I think your all forgetting about groupers. If not the same as groupers are eels. Probably the hardiest of all including damsels. Want color? Miniatus, Polleni, Louti, Argus, etc. You can cycle a tank easily with most groupers. What angels, tangs, gobies, or puffer can you cycle a tank with? When I worked at LFS more than a decade ago we had a 12" panther grouper that was given on loan to cycle large FO tanks. This Panther did the job time and time again with the most novice of fish keeper. This was befor LR was used commonly. Some Lions and triggers are almost as hardy. Regards, Tim

yes, Miniata grouper is a particularly nice one..... not too aggressive or too large.... as groupers go......

I have a 92 gallon corner tank. Right now I have a lime green wrasse, panther grouper, and a yellow tang. I was looking to add something that is hardy and had some color too. Any suggestions? I've had some bad luck with clown triggers. I got 2 of them and both didn't make it for some reason. Unless there are other triggers that are more hardy with some nice color to them?

WWM's talked about using french angels to cycle. Scary eh ?

My dragon wrasse is like bulletproof. I had a clownfish die, and I couldn't find it, and the dragon wrasse survived the spike while I was on vacation (my friend thought it was just hiding or something).

The EEL is the hardiest fish every IME.

I overdosed my tank with some medication and all the fishes died except the EEL!!! The eel was just swimming there as if nothing is wrong.

I doubt if the smallest of these would be compatible with your grouper, but the following are hardy fish I have kept for 3-7 years (still have many of them):

smaller fish:
six line wrasse
orchid dottyback
sailfin blenny
bicolor blenny
tomato clown
royal gramma

bigger fish:
mimic tang
harlequin tuskfish
zebra moray eel
imperator angel
green wolf eel blenny
