Harlequin Shrimp in pico tank

I'm going to buy this little tank.

It's about 22cm long 17cm wide 22cm high.

I'm not gonna make any fish suffer there.

Anyway here's my question.

Is it possible to keep harlequin there?

And do those eat anything else but starfish?

And how long does it live?

It's possible with proper equipment and maintenance but that small of a tank is going to take a fair amount of work to maintain proper levels. 15cm by what? They eat starfish and nothing else. Never kept a harlequin but I've had the same fire shrimp for a couple of years.

You need to consider the amount of waste that's made when you start feeding them large stars like chocolate chips. The sand of my tank gets covered in little starfish pellets while they eat, and as they rot it makes an awful mess. Keeping the water quality constant is going to be your biggest concern.

"High" water quality is needed, hence the problem with keeping one in such a small tank. Nems do require pristine water and keeping them in a pico is quite the undertaking. There is always a risk associated with nems eating tankmates. Certain types such as condies and carpets increase that risk. Remember that a small anemone will not be small for long and will quickly dominate a small tank making predation inevitable. Proper lighting for the anemone is also going to give you problems with water temperature, more than likely requiring a chiller(not cheap) to remedy. What are the dimensions of the tank? What type of equipment are you using or planning to use on this tank

Umm..

Umm..

Yeah actually these replies are quite shocking.

I thought they wouldn't need high quality of water.

So I hope that you will answer your own question...

What do you think???

Will I need a skimmer or things like that??

The tank is 2.17 gallons. No anemone is going to work in that(other than aip or majano). A harlequin is not suitable either. One or two sexy shrimp and a ricordea may work. Is the tank drilled? I've never attempted a pico and never researched the proper equip for one. I can't think of any HOB equip that would work, so a sump seems like it would be necessary. The guys in the nano section could probably steer you in the right direction.
