Has anyone used a Portable Air Conditioner in their equipment room?

that would work as well as a normal window ac would. that is 5x more expensive though. normal window ac's take out water, as to how much i dont know...

A normal window ac unit is what I use to keep the tank cool. Works pretty well and yes they do take water out of the air. I watch the humidity in the morning and at night the the difference is like 15%. HTH, Tim

Tank room is in the basement so no way I can do a window unit. I can put a room one in though and vent to the outside

Guess I will do that way, seems pretty simple and it will accomplish the job

I have one in my basement and it works great..I usually keep it on dehumidify and it blows cold air..works like a champ...I had the same issue with the small window so this works out great...

I got a big one so it would do the whole basement...much better than a chiller since the chiller just put out more hot air and a chiller to cool my 400 gallon system would have been more than the unit I bought...

actually, this is the one I got...

There's one in the 'server' room of a place where I work. The only thing with them is you have to vent to the outside. Sometimes that can be a pita.

I need to vent to the outside no matter what I do, so thats not a big deal IMO

Seems like this would be a year round solution
