I seeded my tanks with GARF Grunge, from those crazy reefers in Boise, Idaho. It's basically rubble from their reef tanks, contains all kinds of macro critters. garf dot org

anyways.. just go to your lfs and ask for the sludge off the bottom of the liverock tank .. same stuff if not better

Not that I know of, I just do it that way because they whack URLs sometimes.

When you say sludge, does the stuff in the bucket of water after vacuuming the sand count??

I use it in my tank. I just take a spoon full about once a week and mix it in the water like it says to on the directions. I was going to put it in my refugium but it will make too big of a mess!! not sure if it works that well....but it sure does clog my filter sock!! I got it at Exotic Aquatic, they usually carry it
