Hatching Brine Shrimp (when do you add Selcon).

I just bought some Selcon and some brine shrimp eggs (along with the kit to hatch them).

My question is, when do I add the Selcon? After they hatch, or during the process of hatching?

Do I add the water and the Selcon (if so how much) and brine shrimp eggs all at once, or is it better to the Selcon (how much) after they hatch and keep them in a separate container? If so, how long should they be in that seperate container with the Selcon? Do they eat Phytoplan or Zoplan as well (since I have that to offer)?

Thanks!

Add the Selcon 3 days after hatching. Add about two drops per 500ml Some people think Selcon can be added to the shrimp when they hatch, but they dont start to eat for 3 days, so the argument is the Selcon sticks to the shrimp. I dont believe this, but that is their theory.

BBS can be enriched at the Instar II stage, which is approximately 24 hours after hatching....not 3 days. To enrich at that point, place them in a seperate container and add the selco. Allow them to enrich for 12-16 hours and then feed out.

I see....

Now this separate container can be a simple bowl withut any air pump, or do the BBS need an air pump in their water bowl (while they are eating Selcon).....

Also.....do they need light after hatching to live and get enriched?

Yes, they still need an airline in the enrichment container. No, they don't need a light after hatching.
