Hating Durso Life

Ok I cannot get my Durso's to level out in the overflow. I have tried raising the 'T' up and down on both sides. I have 6 caps with various size holes. ARGH....

The only way I seem to get any level out of it is to completely remove the caps and then the overflow has no fall at all but the tank does not overflow... or has not in my little experiments.

Any thoughts?

Hey man bring them to me if ya can when ya get rock and ill fix them for ya, or if ya not to far I can maybe swing by and fix them, I know how anoying they can be!!

2 Durso in the one overflow. 1 is 1" pipe to a 3/4" hole. The other is 1 1/4" pipe to a 1" hole.

You are using the 1 1/4 for the return to the sump right? I tried the same thing on my 90 gallon but was using a 1 inch for the return to the sump and had the same issues you are, but from what I have read and heard 1 1/4 is the smallest size durso you can build.

Im sorry but im going to have to say that I am using 1" drains in both smaller holes in my 2 overflows and if my fish would pass gas Id hear it. They are SUPER quiet. My other drains are 1 1/2 I believe. I have a 120 and use all four holes for drains and there extremly quiet. Its all in the height and the final tuning. Thats my experiance and current experiance with them. Now I dont know what type of plumbing your using to make yours.

I'm assuming you do have air inlets in your durso's. I've used my durso for several years without any problems. Once I adjusted the air flow, I stopped the fluxuation and associated gurgling.
