I doubt it (though some balancing effects may have been used), but lighting will make a huge difference with a coral like that. Depending on how much actinic etc., it may look much different in your tank. If you can, ask them what kind of light it is living in, what kind the pic was taken in, and whether flash was used.

i asked him for a better pic, but he said that's the only pic they have. but it has not been altered. i'm still hesitant to buy stuff online.

Mini-maxis (if that is what it is), can have some pretty wild color combos, but the lighting the pic was taken under is pretty critical to know.
