Hi:

Just got these 2 Maroon clowns yesterday and came home today from work and one was already going at it with the anemone. Was so surprised because they are tank raised and really didn't have my hopes up.

Enjoy the pics...

Nice maroons! i have 2 GS maroons myself and i wouldn't trade them for any other clowns. What kind of nem is that?

I think they are Rose bubble tips..but not real sure. Got them from my friend when her's split from 2 to 10. Her's are hugh and not much bubble. Mine haven't grown hardly since I got them. Her's are about 10 times bigger then these.

Those are bleached Rose Bubble Tip anemones. I have one myself that I am bringing back. You need to feed your Rose Bubble Tips small feedings of fresh shrimp or fish every other day to help your RBTA bring back its zooxanthellae algae within the tissue of it. Here is my RBTA when I first got it, and then now.

My RBTA is slowly regaining its color back because the person I bought it from has horrible lighting and the anemones bleached in his tank so I am saving them basically.

Here is another example of one of my anemones recovering from a bleached state to a healthy one. Its a Heteractis Crispa.

See the difference?

Wow mine was way worse when I first bought it. Here is a before and after picture of my bta.

This was taken about 2 weeks after I got it.

After about 1.5-2 months it was getting it's color back

This was taken a couple of days ago. It's been just over 3 months since I first got it.

Cute little fish. Hopefully your anemones will color up and they'll all live happily ever after. :D

Also beware of your maroons killing your anemones. Maroons can literally love an anemone to death especially when your RBTA is bleached and small like that. A maroon will greatly stress it out. Just letting you know.

I agree with 55semireef. You may want to move the nem or the clowns until they have regained their strength. The clowns may end up killing them other wise.

Thanks for all the advice everyone. But I'm really confused. Maybe about 3 or 4 monthes ago, someone had posted about their anemone and had a pictured posted of it. I had posted to that one because mine looked just like the one in the pic.

Everyone was saying how great it looked, it wasn't bleached and was very healthy.

Anyways, I'm taking your advice and feeding it more. Trying to give it the TLC it needs and hope it makes it.

Thanks for everything

It's hard to say without seeing the thread, but not everyone realizes a white anemone is a bleached one. And they still do look cool.

I went back and looked at the thread...and yes mine are much more white than in the pics that were in that thread. It was back in Sept or so. I got these from my friend who's have split so many times and these have split once and the one is very very tiny. Like nickle size.

I will take all the advice I have gotten and try my best to nurse them back to health.

Thanks again everyone

I have 2 of the coral life light fixtures with the 50/50 bulbs in them. They are 96 watts each. I really think this isn't enough light, but my friend only has 1 fixture of these and her's look wonderful.

They look even "cooler" when they are not bleached.;)
