I am having a 48x48x24 acrylic reef tank built. I was going to have the overflow put in the dead center but now am having second thoughts on that as it will block flow if I use certain pumps. Where would yall have the over flows ? Thanks Dean

I'd put it in the corner if the tanks going in a corner (I have a 93 like this). I'd center it if it's going in the center of a wall. If it's a walk around, then dead center.

In the back center. Check out my build, I have that exact footprint and I too briefly considered center overflow but the logistics made me choose otherwise.

It just depends where the tank will be. If it's going to be a 4 side viewable tank then a center overflow is a must.

My tank from the front....you can also check out my build thread on here. It's exactly he same footprint you are wanting.

I wanted to go coast to coast. My only concern with an external C2C was how to support the overflow box and water weight. I thought it might need braced as well. But I would def go with one or the overflow on the back wall. :)

Corey, thanks. I think the decision is made for a C2C on the ball wall. Ill post pics when I get some from builder ( if)

Your welcome. Can't wait to see it!
Pop In my thread to see some Rockwork ideas. Also check out KMU's cube. It was sweet!!!

this decision is kiiling me... I think I will go with a coast to coast on the outside back wall.

I think that is a wise choice and your best move, depends on where you are going to place the tank. I flirted with a cube and really wanted an overflow in the center for all around viewing purposes. Looking forward to pictures of your build.
