Having Zoo Issues - Closing up

Hi folks,

Having some issues with my zoos... 4 or 5 weeks back I picked up a couple of nice sized colonies from a local guy. You can see them here in this photo...

Well... last week while I was out of town my house sitter/tank sitter reported that they had started to close up partially. I called my tank service guy (emergency situation perhaps I thought) and he found a shrimp shed in one of the colonies. Well they haven't gotten back to normal yet. Since then I have added a couple of colonies and they opened right up (got them friday).

I was reading on here and some other folks issues of a similar nature, and decided to try the dip. I did that yesterday afternoon around 5:00pm so the lights would come off in short order after doing the procedure.

I did the procedure for all my colonies, figuring if one had anything predatory or irritant, it would be best to do them all at once. Besides, I spotted what turned out to be a crab in one of the new colonies.

Now I wake up and find that most of the colonies are still pinched shut and not opening.

I think there is another issue at hand here... or the dip didn't help as much as I thought it would.

Tank parms:

pH 8.1
Temp 79-80
Alk right about 10Kh (180 ppm)
Ca 410 ppm

Now I did experience a bit of a cyno outbreak on the sand and these colonies do sit on the sand as well. I have increased flow etc and its breaking down at a goodly pace.

It's possible as well that tap water was used for a couple of kalk drip additions this week....

Other things in the tank doing just fine... Two hammers, two 3 varities of frogspawn, monti cap, fish fine, inverts galore, shrimps etc....

Any ideas guys?? these are awesome colonies and I do not want to lose them. So far I see no signs of fungus or predators (no missing or half eaten polyps)... they just don't want to open up and its been about a week.
