Really? Cyanide in Hawaii? Been in the hobby and the trade a long time, and I've never heard of cyanide being an issue in Hawaiian caught fish.

Can you support your claim with any data? Scientific papers, news reports... I'd like to read those because it's certainly news to me

FWIW not all Caribbean fish are caught without dope either - lots of divers there use Quinaldine... which I think is also morally reprehensible but the state of FL still issues permits for the use of the stuff... but I don't hear so many people squawking about that.

I have never heard of a local diver using cyanide. Thats not to say that it has never happened, but its not really an issue here anymore.

In Hawaii I doubt it ever was an issue.

IT was a post by Sharkdude last month but I'm mistaken and is not cyanide but a bleach like substance. In his post we did not know if this was the fish caught was for food or for the aquarium trade. Here is the article

its not 1st come 1st serve.. tank must be at least 210 gallons with out a lot of large fish especially other triggers...

yeah, thats what i'm hopeing too. I would love to get a M Flame wrasse. He also took out achiles tang for the list. I guess he's not going to catch any of those.
