Hawaiian flame wrasse question

I recently put together a little coral sale to pick up some new coral and a pair of these beautiful fish. My local fish store gave me a deal that I couldn't pass up on a beautiful pair. I thought I'd done a good job at covering all the possible holes in my canopy that they could potentially jump out of but somehow the male managed to jumped out of the smallest hole that I had overlooked(I've gone back and covered the hole). Really sad about this because he was such a beautiful fish. The female is doing great and has fit in to my tank really well and is eating like a little pig. I've done some research online and found that without the presence of a male, the female can change sex into a male. Has anyone ever observed this? Here's a picture of her(she is def a beauty!)

Yeah Cirrhilabrus change. I have only Had one pair that stayed a pair. All others That I bought as a pair transitioned into 2 males.

It will turn male eventually, some change fast, some slow just depends on the fish.

In my experience overall size first, as in the female gets to almost as big as the male. Then the dorsal fin becomes enlarged like the male, you will probably only notice this when it is flashing. Last thing is the coloring

I read about it when I was googling terminal phase. Which is how some wrasses for sale are labeled. Meaning they won't change any more.

Not really any information just a lead to look up.
